|
|
I have just bought a generic replacement battery, which came with 2 special screwdrivers, but no instructions as to how to get inside my TT casing to effect the replacement. No reason why it should have come with instructions as this is a multi application battery.
I have trawled back 6 months of forum entries to see if anybody else has found the answer, but no luck.
I have removed the plastic bezel which surrounds the touch screen, but cannot for the life of me see see how to remove the electronic guts.
Can anyone offer help, please! |

All you had to do was ask
There is a disassembly guide for the 910 here. Aside from the hard drive/sd slot being different the actual process is the same. See here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thank you for the instantaneous reply!
Ah, all is revealed...... the screws were under the peelable rubberised strips.....
Will now follow the manual!
Many thanks! |

Have you tried this guy... I had my Tom go down and tried all ways -- untill I met this guy on line.. from here I think it was..
It is so easy to fix the battery wrongly and damage the Tom..
It was replaced by return of post and at little more than the cost of the battery and postage..

Thanks Fibre, for your wisdom!
Failed to reach first base...... one set of these accursed small screws on outer casing are so firmly embedded, that my regulation Torx no 6 driver has failed to remove them.
Have emailed the address you gave, and will doubtless have to go down that road now.
I can see the dangers you describe, having studied Darren's instruction guide; it looks fearsome. |

I can wholeheartedly recommend Satnav-Shop, they know TomTom's product better than TomTom themselves. _________________ Darren Griffin |
