Andy_P2002,
I think you've just described what I tried, but I was put off because all the maps offered said 'buy now' and not 'ready to download because you have just paid for it' or somesuch!
In any case, I need to wait for the new 2Gb SD card to arrive since I only have a 1Gb card currently. Will have another go then. Ideally, of course, I would just like a download link from the webshop. I might try the radical step of asking TT Support to provide it.

Once you've bought it, you should be able to download it as many times as you like for a year.
They won't supply a web address to download from, because the TT has to be connected to the computer as Home downloads it in order to sort out the security locking it to your device.
Where I thought you may be going wrong was by going to the "Add Maps" section in Home once you'd bought it on the website, because that'ss exactly what I did! Had me scratching my head for a few minutes, until I remembered it should appear in the "update" section instead.
I've had another go at the download with mixed results.
It seems when I got the first message about buying maps instead of downloading them, the TT Shop server had not yet caught up with itself. I tried the correct method of connecting the TT to HOME and then got a list of items to download, with my two maps. Pleased to see that the WE map is the 1.7Mb version as requested.
But... HOME will not perform the download because it says there is not enough space on the device. I've reported this to TT Support and hope they can resolve it. All I want to do is get files from the TT Shop onto my PC and then onto the new SD cards (when they arrive).
