Its not as easy as buying a new map card i am afraid. All maps are done by download now so you have to go to TT Home and add maps, voices etc and select the map, pay for it and then download it.
What worries me is if you buy a map and the problem is still there.
But what i was saying before you do have a folder called back up but the access is denied, is this so. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

I don't know if TomTom uses the same general files or naming conventions on all of their units.
I see a file called
ttsystem
You could try using Windows to search your entire computer and see if that file or another that might exist is there. Maybe someone can post the names of other files your unit would contain in a backup.
Good luck |

A friend of mine at work brought a TT One XL in to work last week because it said no maps found and when I connected it to my laptop and checked there was no map folder. So I cheated and copied someone elses map fold onto his card to check what would happen. replaced the card, turned it on - no maps found again.
Checked on the laptop again and the folder had disappeared again. He took it back next day and argos replaced it as defective.
