How did you create your back-up, by using TomTom Home or using Windows Explorer. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

Have you upgraded TomTom Home since you made the backup? - it could be the files for the backup are in a different folder on the PC from a previous version of Home software - what version of Home do you have on the PC? - Mike |

Can you locate the backup folder on the PC using Windows Explorer? - if you start TT Home and go to File/ Preferences adavanced tab it should show three folder locations, one of which is your backup, copy the contents of this folder back to the memory card in the device using Windows Explorer - Mike |

NO DONT DO THAT. Maps are locked to each device by way of device code and can only be used on one unit at a time.
If you look in the TomTom folder on your PC not TomTom home, what is the names of the folders in there. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

Sorry that may have been a bit direct. If you close all applications on your PC as if you have just switched it on, do you have an icon saying My Documents, If so double click on it and then you will see a TomTom folder, After this click the Home folder. Try this and let me know how you get on. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)
