As I said, on earlier models, it wrote to the card.
I assume that with later models with internal flash memory for the maps and extra memory generally, the situation is rather different |

Earlier versions used to write to the Card. Whether the latest software does, I don't know. If you could reverse engineer MapSettings.cfg it might be found in there. _________________ Richard

Wow, this topic has taken off! Thanks to all for your detailed advice. I've ordered myself a card as recommended by mighty mart on page two of this forum, and on the company's website i found the following comment which may be of interest:

Do I get the idea that my wonderful One XL (Europe) which I bought only last year is now an 'older model'!

4GB is OK so long as it does NOT use SDHC technology.
Search the forums for "SDHC" for suggestions. |
