Hi Everyone,
First off, our ignorance precludes this question ;o)
We have looked and looked for a way to store a phone number/additional information about an address, to no avail.
Can you add a phone number to a favorite? We think that you can add a phone number to a POI but that does seem a bit combersome. Plus, we can't seem to add a description to either a favorite or POI. Are our findings accurate?
Plus, we don't really understand how best to use the 720. For example, we are heading to Memphis in a few days and we don't know if we should be adding site (ie Graceland, Sun Studios) to our favorites or POI.
Sorry all, these are rudimentary questions, we will be quicker on the uptake once we learn the basics (we hope).

You're right... Favourites are JUST a point on the map.
POIs can have a phone number attached. You do that either when you first add the POI entry or later by Manage POIs/Edit POI.
You can't add any other information, but the name itself CAN be made quite long (if you can't see the whole name on-screen, just tap and HOLD it to switch to a smaller font and see it all, then release if you want to choose that one or slide your finger to the edge of the screen before lifting it off if you don't.
It's up to you whether you save places as Favourites or POIs, the methods are very similar.
I use Favourites for temporary storage, and make new POI categories (called "family" and "kids sports" etc) for places I want to keep long term.
It is easy to convert from one to the other, just by locating it on the 'Browse map' page (using "find") and then once the blue cursor is on it tap the cursor button at the bottom and select as "add as POI" or "add as favourite".

If you have time you should read the FAQ's as they will give you a better understanding of your device and also create a back-up as it will save you lots of hasste in the long run. Hope you enjoy your trip and your new TT. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)
