Hi all.
I had a strange email from Tomtom a couple of weeks ago which I can't find for the life of me asking if I wanted to apply to take part in a 1000 person trial in January.
They said it would involve a new European map and new software to run on my 720.
I haven't heard whether I have been picked to take part yet but does anybody know what it's all about and what the new software involves?
Is this a trial for the new Traffic HD I wonder? |

| You have nothing to loose if you accept the offer (assuming it is genuine), put the map and OS on an SD card (unless it is supplied on a card) and insert it in the device, the 720 will then boot from the card, if you find it doesn't work for you remove the card and re-boot the device as this will then use the internal memory. (I would fully back up the device first BEFORE doing any of the above though) - Mike |

They said that they would be providing an SD card with everything on....
I haven't heard anything yet either but live in hope...Always enjoy beta testing stuff out! |

 Received the same email offer, and whilst reading just received confirmation that I have been accepetd and I'll be receiving the new maps by the end of the year.....Great |

Just received the following reply from TomTom:

I got the thumbs down email also but I don't drive that much and hardly ever in large towns so I may not have even met their selection criteria.
Plus I already have a 4Gb SDHC card in my unit

PLUS a free map upgrade to the latest edition, that's not bad in my opinion. |

Here's my Email today ...

When I applied, I didn't mention that they had emailed me as GO720 #3 or #4 or #5 and I'd be testing on #6 (I think, or maybe #7).
