looking at my account my order for the upgrade is now showing "partialy shipped" - whatever that means!
No indication of what may have been shipped yesterday (I'm waiting for GB and Europe). I suppose they could be sending the gb first if they don't have the europe sets but as I wouldn't be able to use my ttn2 european maps with ttn3 this wouldn't be a lot of use.
Anybody else have an order status like this?

That's interesting - I was under the impression they were not going to start shipping until the 21st!

Hi Ian,
Well spotted! I’ve just checked my order, and it also has a Shipping status of “Partialy shipped”. The Shipping status date is “Apr 16 2004 3:53PM”.
I’m only waiting for the GB version, as I don’t have the Western Europe maps. I hope that they send the CD and not just the box!

I would suspect that the "item" shipped is the 49.95 Euro upgrade charge. If you look at the detail of the order there are two "physical" items - i.e. the software with UK maps and the Europe map set. Are either of these showing as shipped? |

1. Go to http://support.tomtom.com
2. Click on “MyTomTom” on left hand side.
3. Using the same email address that you used when you ordered TTNav3 upgrade, either create a new account, or logon.
4. Click on the “Orders”.
5. Click on the Order number for full details.

Steve, although I’m only after the GB maps, you’re right.
This is what the order currently displays:
Qty. Ship Art.Nr Product Description
1 0 1C90.061 TTN3 S/W upgrade - Great Britain
1 1 UPGRADEPREMIUM2-3 TomTom Navigator 3 Upgrade Fee
Looks like TomTom have “shipped” the cost from my credit card , but have not yet physically shipped the upgrade.

Thanks for that info Privateer. I can now see my TTN3 upgrade order.
It seems I had not registered my 'new' email address, and that's why I never got any notifications.
All sorted now. |

If you look towards the bottom of the page, you'll see that the item that's shipped is the upgrade fee - not the actual upgrade.
TomTom promised to start shipping on Wednesday of this week - though asked for people to allow 15 days (which I'm taking to be three working weeks) for delivery.
It's clear that the upgrade process has been far from problem free for many. I was fortunate - I chose to wait out the first day, and ordered early on the second, where they'd fixed the payments screen to be SSL (though, oddly, even though a Verified by Visa logo was displayed, I wasn't asked to go through the Verified by Visa authentication). My order was placed without too much trouble, and I expect it will ship at some point in the next few weeks.
One thing I did find in the TomTom support site (on the page about upgrading more than 3 products for one fee - apparently the rule is that you can upgrade as many TomTom Navigator 2 products as you own for one upgrade fee so long as they're all different) is an email address for the 'upgrade manager' - ttn3upgrade@tomtom.com
