Wonder if anybody can help....
The Record Voice icons are greyed out on my 720 unit. Have been for a while, as I remember. Doing a hard reset did not fix the situation.
About 3 weeks ago, I had to do serious stripping of files/folders from my unit in order to get the North America 7.10 map to fit. I'm wondering if I deleted some files from a folder I thought I wouldn't need that, indeed, are necessary to activate the icons.
So.....does anybody know whether there are indeed files I need and/or a reset to factory settings (which I've not tried since I would lose customized settings) would work to alleviate the situation?
The irony is that, even if the icons were active, I probably wouldn't use 'em anyway. But, would like to know the unit & features I paid for are there ... if you know what I mean.

That was one of the things I lost when I copied my old mapsettings.cfg file across from a non-TTS Go.
See if you still have voice recognition on the address search, I didnt.
I think I fixed it with a 'return to factory settings' and putting the mapsettings.cfg back from my "day one" backup.
You don't mention any backups... (especially before all that "file stripping"!)

No, I have at least one, maybe 2, full backups prior to the unit stripping. I'll try the factory reset method, Andy, but I'll make a backup copy of the current mapsettins.cfg file residing on the unit now (and associated with my NA 7.10 map, I presume).
I'll copy over the mapsettings.cfg file from the backup (associated with the US & Canada 7.05 map that got backup up, I presume).
If that .cfg file doesn't 'take', then I'll copy basck to the unit (renamed properly) the current .cfg file.
