A lot more than £150.

Installing the latest software won't give the latest Map.

If you can open the box in the shop and switch it on you can find what software and Map Versions are installed on it.

If the Map is not V7xx then it doesn't have the most up todate Maps installed and doesn't match what the Advert says.

Is this False advertising?

??? not with you...

The pictures are definitely from an old "One New Edition" (the latest is the "One 3rd Edition")

Anyone else notice you can clearly see the Product code on the card in the "More information on this product / Take a closer look" photo?

This is an old model, but Argos must have sourced a large number of them, so MAYBE TomTom has refurbished them and added the latest maps and software, but I doubt it. The only way to really tell, is to look at the full info screen you get by tapping the signal strength bars and then tapping the box on the next screen where it gives the software version, to get a third page with lots of version details.

I repeat, software upgrades have always been free (to date), but unless you have a "Latest map guarantee" in the box, you won't get any updated maps without buying them.

It always amazes me when people quote the features blurb they read on websites assuming it is gospel truth. The people who put the website descriptions together don't have any specific knowledge, they just copy what they can from the box, or the manufacturer's original advertising. These Ones DID have the latest mapping when they were originally made.
If Argos still sold Sinclair Spectrums they would probably still be described as having the biggest memory available in a home computer (48k! Laughing )

*Someone* at TomTom may well know, but the people who run customer support won't have a clue.
