Here, did anybody else spot the new mobile on the A23 northbound today? Or have I got myself another free lifetime membership? _________________ Dennis

Excellent post Dennis. Nice to get an insight into the inner sanctum of those who generously volunteer their own time / fuel etc. for the benefit of others :D |

No wonder PGPPSW is the place to be
What a fascinating article on the day of a verifier. No wonder that we have confidence in the speed camera database, when so much dedication is put in by volunteers for the benefit of others.

Excellent post and thanks to all the verifiers.
I do try and keep a look out for new camera's but being in a high populated area (South Yorkshire) I always seem to be too late but if you have any that need verifying round here just let me know. |

Yes, i would like to add my appreciation to the verifiers. No wonder this is the best database going. I did wonder what was meant by 'independently verified' and couldn't believe it was done by volunteers, but then again, how else would it be done?
This story might go to explain why i am waiting for a recent submission of mine to be verified in Shrewsbury. I'll wait patiently though and see what happens.
Keep up the good work

Indeed.. to you all a big thank you.
I must be honest and say i submitted a few in the early days, didn't get there first so no free membership.
So imagine my surprise when i saw a local camera taken away by the council. It stayed away for a number of months, i heard about a month before it's pending re-siting and thought wow, result, i've got this one!!.
Instead of being naughty i waited until the day it was fixed on it's stand and activated to the second before i sent in the submission, funny though somehow someone must have beaten me.
Ok there are many why's and why not's here but i'm only saying why i don't do it anymore.
I suppose i'll pay my £20 and enjoy it.
Like you Dennis i too spend all my life on the road all over the country and overseas and believe me i do appreciate the work you and your fellow verifiers put in for all of us. |

Your email address is in our list of 'pre charge submitters' so you would have been sent an email back in Jan/Feb 2006 offering you a free lifetime subscription. All you needed to do was respond with your forum username to get it activated. Hotmail may have treated it as spam though...
It's been nearly 2 years now so it's just bad luck, many others replied and benefited from day one. The good news is I have now upgraded your account, please do keep submitting!

Thanks MaFt, i can't recall having a mail however it may have been junked by the system.
Also, as you may recall there was a lot of angst around at the time which we don't need to go over on here, but i will be the first to say you have all stuck at it and the results are here for all to enjoy and learn.
For my part i will of course participate, now where's that SDK file gone?.
Regards. |
