|
|
I have an RDS-TMC Receiver which came with my TTGO510 nearly one year ago.
I see that TomTom have now updated the TMC Receiver and I'm keen for TomTom to exchange my less than succesful device with this newer one.
They have agreed to take my old one back but seem to have missed my point that I was wanting it replaced with the newer version given that the original was never really fit for purpose. Instead they have said they will replace my "TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver EU v3.75 [M]" with another "TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver EU v3.75 [M]".
So my question is what is the latest code for the TMC device? I want to reply back to them and be specific about what I want?
Kind regards. _________________ TT GO 1005 |

You want the device where the last three digits of the part number are 013 this is the latest device, it is a distinct improvement on previous devices, its not 100% but then again RDS-TMC never will be - Mike |

I'm just doing mine and I got a similar email.
I queried it and they confirmed I'd be sent the lastest version.
I'll find out in the next week or two what I actually get! |

They have emailed me back and apologised for the first email they sent me. They meant to say they would replace it with the latest version and not replace it with another of the same version.
I'll post back as soon as I have more info. _________________ TT GO 1005 |

Top marks to TomTom service!!
I received an email yesterday advising me that a new Traffic Module is on its way back to me using Royal Mail before 9am service. _________________ TT GO 1005 |

I got the email last night at 22:30. The Post Office tracking says come back later so I guess it's not with them yet.
Fingers crossed it will be here first thing Monday. |

I've just got in from work and the new 4V00.013 version has been delivered.
Not quite next day but it's here after a year of waiting
I'll try it out over the weekend. Fingers crossed |

It's the 4V00.013 as promised.
Early indications are good. It picks up the signal much quicker than before although it does appear to be more willing to drop an exisiting connection and then lock on again.
I say the indications are good because at least it is able to lock onto the appropriate frequency quickly.
I amazed TomTom changed mine though. I had previously split it apart and made the signal booster modification, as described elsewhere in this forum, and it went back to them cellotaped together with a hole in one end !! It must be some Xmas spirit from TomTom. _________________ TT GO 1005 |

Mine had a hole under the black insulating tape as well
I've not been out and hence it's only been tried on my drive. Two hours and no lock. |

Paul, can you see if putting the aerial wire outside the car makes a difference to reception, even trying it in the house might be better for a test.
The reason for this is Athermic glass which can attenuate RF signals very effectively, I am not too sure the Audi has this type of screen but it is a possibility - Mike |

I'll certainly be playing around with it. There's no special glass on my car but since I currently have the 910 at the lower right of my screen, the aerial goes up next to the A piller and then across the top of the screen.
Maybe I've got it too close to the metal work. Maybe outside my drive it's sheltered due to the garage and the houses.
I'll give it a go and see what happens. I know it can't be worse than previously |

What version of software have you installed on the 910? - Mike |
