The first thing to check here is what storage card you have as it could be a problem with that. Esay way to check is to remove the card and install a small 16mb sectional map into main memory. If it all starts up OK after this then we need to investigate the card. _________________ Darren Griffin |

right ok ill get onto that tommorow and let you know how it went, but surely regardless of the maps being on the memory card, the program itself would start. As the program is stored in main storage, and runs before you install any maps anyway? i dont know, ill try it anyway, any suggestions are welcome seein as i have no real idea where to start.
haha the thing is im gettin paid to sort this for a person down the road being the resident technical genius, little does he know im posting away as i havent got a clue myself |

TomTom won't start up if iyt can't find or read installed maps. When you install the app you have to install a map before it will fire up, no map and you get an error and it quits.
We've seen it before where a small corruption in the map data causes the app to exhibit your symptoms, normally this is a Sandiosk SD card (avoid like the plague) but on occasion it's a minor data corruption or sometimes a didgy POI file which breaks it all. _________________ Darren Griffin |
