Which SD card?

Hey again. Got my PDA on the way now (thanks for all your help so far!). I'm no just picking which 256meg SD card to get. Will a standard Kingston 256MB SD Card be ok in terms of access speed, or should I go for something else, for example http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3807155045&category=18871 this Lexar 32x SD card?

That's the one I've bought to replace a Sandisk 256mb (from that seller too, have bought from him before).

Will let you know when I get it, hopefully this weekend!!

Ive just got a lexar 256 32x speed and this works really well on my 2210 purchased from ebay and sent from the states

Guys,

Anyone any joy with any of these? Currently using a Taiwan made sandisk 256, and it usually takes about 5 or 6 attempts to get the maps to install - the card is really slow in storing data.

Thinking about getting a Sandisk 512MB Ultra II SD memory card - 60X transfer speed - anyone any news on these at all?

From what I have read on here it is best to avoid anything from Sandisk.

I have got a 256MB SD Lexar x32 card from Ebay and its about 5 seconds faster than my old Dane Elec SD card plotting the same route.

Try looking at this site (http://sdprob.aximsite.com/theproblemlist.htm) where there is a fair bit of user data on what works.

I've just bought a Panasonic 512M SD from EBay for £130, because I didn't have any confidence I would get a good SD card from anyone else (except SimpleTech - and that was £190 and I could only find it on clove.co.uk)

I've just bought a 256MB Integral SD card for about £56 delivered from www.valueflash.co.uk. It is a rebadged Panasonic (actually listed as Integral/Panasonic)and is made in Japan, which apparently is the best assurance you can get that it will work.

My 256mb Lexar 32x SD card arrived today. I was using CF for the maps and a test route on CF was 55 secs, only 30 secs on the new SD card.

Had moved to CF as the Sandisk 256mb SD card was too slow so it would have been well in excess of 1 minute.

So lexar seems fine on my Ipaq 3970

I'm just about to order a GPS and need a SD memory card because I only have 64mb MMC ones at the moment.

Is this the same card as the one you guys got from ebay?

the sd card from ebuyer isn't the 32x speed version - just the normal speed .

Also if you have an ipaq 2210 Hp have just released a sdio update for all rom versions upto & including 1.10

For what its worth, my HP 2210 runs extremely well with TTN2 and the maps completely on an SD card. I decided to buy the best from Lexar, and I currently have a 512MB for European driving and a 256MB for the USA trips. TomTom condone the maps, but do not recommend running the software from an SD card, but I experienced no problems in the 1700 miles from central England to southern Germany and back again.
