Hi just bought ipaq 3950 and navman 3450 from e-bay. All software installed and all maps and updates I can get I think. I have smartst version 1.91.0041. When I turn it on all I get at the bottom is waiting for GPS, under expansion packs in Settings it does say that the navman is connected though ?
When I also try to run my map-tect software, all I get is, can't open COM port. and then some times, communication timeout and Failed to terminate RS232 thread ? In the setup it reads that the navman driver COM 6. Please some one help, realy want to use it. Navman support still has not got back to me .
All the best Graham [/code][/b] |

Make sure the latest jacket driver is installed (we have it in the downloads section) then test with a GPS utility like WinFast (also in the downloads section) if the jacket functions properly. It may not be COM 6 after all, rather (maybe) COM 4. Make sure you set the speed to 57600 _________________ Lutz

Thanks for your reply ! I have the latest jacket driver and have now tried all the ports availible and no good.
Then I downloaded winfast and in GPS info 1.3 it come up, installed Driver: Navman
Active : Navman (COM6:57600 )
Receiver SW Version : 2.1.1MO1325 BW, Navman GPS 2.1.3
but still no conection or read outs.
Is there anything I could try or should I bin the navman and give up and get Bluetooth Gps ??

Maybe your unit is really defective. If you can afford it then a BT receiver is certainly the better solution _________________ Lutz
