Never heard of one. Why not start one and dog owners can contribute locations of places they have stayed/visited? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Basically a good idea but one I think would be very difficult to do. Too many.
Having three Border Collies I find it can be a problem finding holiday accomodation, many will take one, some two but only found two who would take three. The first has ceased letting and the second was a 'dive'.
We are still looking for next year. Any accomodation suggestions around the Yorkshire Dales would be greatly appreciated?
Most of the Parks/Country Parks around North Kent are dog friendly. Some have certain areas where dogs must be on a lead. There are some nice walks along the river Medway where, for the most part, dogs are allowed.
Then there's the coast. e.g. Whitstable April-Sept dogs must be on a lead but cross a white line into Tankerton and dogs are unrestricted all year.
Torquay used to have one beach where dogs were allowed but now banned on all. Having said that, the Boardwalk Cafe on the front is very dog friendly and on a couple of occasions, when it;s rained, the owner invited us inside providing the dogs lay under the table.
Torcross, Slapton Sands, in Devon is very dog friendly as is the owner of the Fish Bar there, who will allow dogs in if it's not too crowded.
Dawlish Warren has restrictions on the dunes and the main beach but further along the beach, 6 groynes, and dogs are unrestricted.
Just using the variations above, how would a Dog Friendly POI be set up? |
