That's because the buzzing is a known hardware problem, despite what TomTom are telling their customers.
Get a few replacements, and one of them will work. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,

I don't get a buzzing on my 720, the person I'm talking to just can't hear me. I have a Samsung D900 which is listed as compatible, and I know the phone is OK, as I can use it with a tiny "in the ear" bluetooth hands free device.
I rang my own home phone from the Tomtom indoors, and let the answer machine take the call, so I could hear it for myself, and I found that if I put the tomtoms mike right up to my mouth, the sound came through!
Maybe this is a different problem, and possibly could be software based, as the symptoms are just as if the mike gain has been turned right down.

I had contacted TomTom support about the quiet mp3 through the FM transmitter problem and was advised by them to update to this latest application, and ..... it has fixed it |

Right! Downloaded and installed the update - I'm going to nip out to the car and try it - especially as I've just popped a 2GB card in full of MP3s, and my 720 reads them all with no probs!

Having had the last application update crash my pc part way through the update and therefore nearly brick my 2 day old 720 (red circle with white cross flashing when turned on and even still after multiple resets) I think i might just hang back and watch what happens. Great that they have stuck this new app out to HOME without first updating the revision page www.tomtom.com/1641 (which has now just crashed!!!) so people could check what they are getting or maybe losing!
Bluetooth seems to work well with a Samsung U600 though, after much forum checking i went for a 720 with the .010 code on the box model sticker and this might have paid off so am now scared not to change anything... oh
apart from 7.05 to 7.10 maps which is turning out to be a fiasco.
Rant over... back to reinstalling XP. 720- great bit of kit -crap support |

Downloaded and installed no problem. I have noticed a small improvement with hands free on a moto v3 but still buzzes a bit, I don't know whether it would be usable with engine noise in the background. speech recognition improved, I don't have to shout at it so much and it doesn't put in extra digits. The record your own warning function now records without lots of interference, much better _________________ Regards Mike |

Definite improvement on the FM transmitter side, and no other problems elsewhere that I can see. The update downloaded and installed without a hitch on my 720.

Not good news for me with this update.
I can no longer use Bluetooth on my Nokia 6680 for handsfree or traffic data on my 720.
I was forced to delete and re-pair my Nokia 6680 with the 720 which failed completely at first attempt, and 2nd attempt will not setup a data connection. So now I can't use TomTom Traffic or Handsfree. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,

Well, the bloody High St colliers thing is still there. Laughably their support section on the web site still hasn' been updated with what was in the last firmware update. Christ they're slow. |

You need the new 710 map to cure the "colliers" and other stupid road name that escapes me - Mike |
