Has anyone else received the invitation to upgrade their maps at 50% off only to find the reduction is nowhere near 50% when you try to buy them.
The offer is quite clear, it does not say "up to 50% off" it says "50%".
Even though I think the map prices are reasonable,this sort of false advertising really annoys me.
I thought it was illegal ?

My thoughts exactly: The new UK map was £41-95. The discount price is £29-95. How is that 50% off? By my reckoning the discount price should be £20-97. Their price is a discount of £12 but should be £21.
I too looked for the words "up to" but they aren't there. What are TT up to? It makes about as much sense as their answers to problems.

Percentages can vary upon the intake of various substances and can even mimic fractions , the more substance that is ingested and dependent on what type of substance it is that has been ingested a percent can mimic any fraction IE 50% can easily become 3/4 or even 2 thirds and 1/2 could become 25% and so on.
Where are the Tomtom offices based?? |

TomTom have approximately 25 maps for sale in our new map shop at an average 50% discounted price. The actual discounted price depends on the particular map that you decide to purchase. Due to the difference in discounted prices we have made both the original and the discounted price clearly visible on the map shop pages so that the actual price is known in advance, before any purchase has been made.
I wonder what trading standards would make of it?

I do agree with you, it is deceptive but the small print is their get-out clause.

Sorry Biggles 150, but there is no small print in the email. It says nothing other than 50% off maps. The fact that it says something else elsewhere is not relevant. Their offer to me is 50% off and when I go to their website to buy the maps I find it is not 50% off. They have mislead me.
