Having been caught out once, just wondering how good Traffic is, i.e. how quick and up to date, particularly for the more rural areas?

Being stuck is bad enough, without being told to avoid something when you're already well in the middle of it!

Definitely worth subscribing to, the alerts are very quick, I have twice passed accidents which must have just happened and they are indicated (Don't know how they get the info that quickly) and the exact location is shown when you view the map. It also shows for instance "slow traffic, roadworks, traffic speed down to 12mph etc. I've not had a traffic incident on route yet to see how the automatic diverting works. Very pleased with CP7 so far.

Well, don't expect much from it. For example, there was a collision on the west bound 91 freeway (where I live). I'm going east bound. The traffic report specifically said it was on the west bound side of the freeway. Yet CP keeps trying to route me away from the 91 freeway altogether!!!!

In California, copilot traffic alerts are pretty useless. Microsoft search using speed sensors and color coding the freeway map works much better I run both programs at the same time using a bluetooth gps on a touch sprint cellphone. When a traffic alert is announced, I hide cp and use the microsoft freeway traffic maps to see what is ahead. cp voice still works when in the Microsoft program. If I get off the freeway, I have voice guidance to get back on the freeway. A task switcher of your choice can be used to switch back and forth.

Microsoft live search does the color coded freeway maps as well and I use that for traffic info and then co pilot for just routing.
