I have an HTC Touch, which comes with Google Maps installed. I also have a BT GPS unit, which syncs with the Google Maps to track current position. However, as this downloads maps on-the-fly over GPRS, it soon gets very expensive on data usage.
It is possible to install maps on the SD card and point Google Maps at them so i dont have to connect via GPRS every time? If so, where can i get such maps? |

I'm with Orange, which sadly hasn't yet matched T-mobile or Vodafone's packages. I get 4MB/month for £4, but that would soon be gobbled up by Google Maps. I'm told they've got something coming soon, but nothing definite.
Is there any other package that would do this for me, without going the whole hog of buying TT Navigator or Co-pilot? I already have a Nuvi 360T, so didn't really want to fork out on another package for my phone as it's only to be used as an occasional GPS toy. |
