ive used tomtom home to get new map 710 for my go700, now i have no map apart from the canary islands and when i press update on tomtom home it takes about ten seconds and says its updated, which it HASN'T!

This isn't enough information for us. How did you get the map, what did you do and what happened when you did it? Tell us the FULL story - the usual thing is it downloads (that has been taking ages - hours even for some people), then it installs, sometimes it deletes a previous map, sometimes it installs the new map alongside the old. You have to tell us all about it.
Have you tried Add Maps, Traffic, Voices etc ... Add Map you already own.
Have you tried Manage Maps ... Change Map?
Have you got a backup? (PLEASE say Yes!!). _________________ Dennis

Somewhere there is an option to switch maps (sorry, don't know which menu on the 700). The Canary Islands are on a separate map to the rest of Europe. You may just need to make it the active one. _________________ Gerry

i think the problem was the first time id tried to dowload the map it stalle dhalf way through, so this morning i deleted the files in "downloads" "map" then left it to download while i was at work, i came back and now its installed and all ok, sorry for not enought info in 1st post, i was irrate this morning
