I have just purchased a Tomtom GO 520 which comes with pre-loaded fixed camera positions. However as the GPS database seems to be much superior to the Tomtom one I want to install the GPS one. I have two questions,
1) how do I install GPS database. Cant see any reference to this elsewhere on this site. Plenty about the 910 and earlier Tomtom models but they are all different to the 520.
2) will I need to remove the pre-installed Tomtom fixed cameras that came installed on the 520;
Can someone please give me some guidance please.

1. The basic installation is exactly the same for ALL TomTom models (the only real difference is for setting up the audible warnings on models that can do text to speech).
So, using the instructions for the 910 (THESE ONES) will do you fine.

2. Up to you....
i. You can leave them on and enabled - like that you will get double alerts for cameras that are in both databases, and you can see just how many are missing from TomTom's.
ii You can leave them on and just disable them in the "Plus services" menu (not the Manage POI menu where all other alerts are set up).
iii. You can remove the files completely (to make a bit more room in memory for other things).
Instructions to do that (plus, amongst other handy topics, the VITAL Windows Explorer backup instructions) are all in the TomTom FAQs topic on this forum.
