Since the release of NavCore 7 (or commonly known as 'version 7 software') for the TomTom range of products, a handful of users have been wondering what new features have been added to each unit. Well, wonder no more thanks to this PocketGPSWorld.com exclusive article that gives a complete breakdown of what will feature in NavCore 7.2 (and 7.16)!

Click here to see the full breakdown (opens in new window).

Fantastic!
Might as well lock or delete my other topic now (thank God - it was getting unwieldy already!)

I have updated to application 7.161 today on my Tom Tom GO Classic and can advise it currently has on Preferences "Show version" and "Battery saving preferences". I wonder therefore if these 2 options will disappear on 7.2 as indicated on your chart.

Curiously, this downloaded using the old Tom Tom Home 1.5.106 version sourced from the Tom Tom web site but would not download using the Home 2.1 version due to a server connection error.

Next step... update maps to version 7 in order to use Map Share.

MaFt, could you make the link open in a new window, like all the other links in the forums?

I was going through 'view posts since last visit', and followed your link, then closed the window as I usually do when I've followed a link in a post, without realising I was closing the main window. Embarassed Of course, when I re-opened the browser I'd lost all the new posts and had to go through the forums one by one looking for posts I hadn't read.

Not a major issue, but it would be nice, if it's not too much trouble.

Thanks. Smile

"Warn when near POI" seems to be a missing feature from nearly all devices. I hope that doesn't been we won't get warnings when near speed cameras any more?!?!?

Will the two versions of the Rider ever be upgraded to V7 or have they reached the end of their firmware cycle?

Ah, no. It's a rather confusingly laid out chart.

The line above is "Manage POIs" (which is where "warn when near" normally lives) and is available on all units EXCEPT the ONE 3rd Edition The "warn when near" line is the next one down, with just the ONE 3rd Ed on it, meaning it hasn't got the full POI menu but just the warn when near bit of it.

Similarly with the Voice preferences menu. The chart shows the 520 and 720 have the full Voice preferences" menu, but the other models just have "Change voice" instead.

The "click here to comment" link in the main article currently points to the wrong thread.

After a full back-up why not fool TTHome into thinking you have a One v1 & try it. After all, the Rider is basically a waterproof One v1 anyway.

Does anyone know if/when the Navigator software for PDAs/smartphones might also be updated to version 7?

Thanks

Mark

I just bought the TomTom One 3rd and I do not think I got the 7.2 update. It was more 7.1x version.

Did everyone else get there update? I am running the very newest home.

I think v7.2 is only for the x20 series currently. The most current version for the ONE and x10 series is 7.161.
