Apparently.
I thiught you may be interested in my discussion with TOMTOM regarding my traffic no longer functioning.
The response is the thread title. Straight from TOMTOM mouth.
Did anyone else realise this.
Below is my questions and their responses.

Thats complete rubbish.
Your adveristing says differently. If you wish to continue with that arguement I will gave no choice but insist on a full refung for the software traffic subscription.
If that is the case then you ar clearly in violation of the sale of goods act.
Look forward to your response
regards Nigel.

Dear Mr mould,
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support
I have just checked with our 2nd level support team and we do not support traffic on PDA if it is connecting through a mobile phone. We only support traffic on PDA's if the PDA has the capabilities to take calls and receive GPRS without connecting to a mobile phone.
With Best Regards
The TomTom Customer Support Team

yes I do have full GPRs from my mobile account.
Yes my phone is compatabile.
Did you read my message? And your reponse (for what its worth) was not within the 48 hours you promised me.
Any other suggestions?

Dear Mr mould,
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support
There are two things you have to do:
the first is check with your mobile phone provider to ensure that you have access to full unrestricted GPRS
The second thing you need to do is check with the manufacturer of the PDA to see if your phone is compatible with your PDA.
With Best Regards

Hi there
You're not with Orange by any chance? I had this problem with my new phone recently. Turned out to be Orange adult filters were blocking access to the Tomtom server. Switched off the filtering and it's worked fine ever since.
If you're not with orange, maybe your provider has a similar filter in place?

Thanks for that. I am on orange however I have not change anything that coincides with tomtom not working.
Also TOMTOM traffic no longer works from the cradle connected to PC, wheras it used to.

I've been unable to use TT Traffic for a couple of weeks via Orange. I tried a T Mobile sim and it worked fine. Today I put the Orange sim into another phone and connected to Orange, I then put the sim back in my PDA (Palm Treo) and it now works! |

But if you have always had Adult Filter switched on, and they have tweeked the filter settings at their end....
Might be worth switching off AdultFilter just to eliminate it. You can always switch it back on again.

I'm using a Nokia E65 on Orange and Traffic always stops working after about 20 mins, requiring me to kill TT and start it up again. Traffic then reconnects for another 20 mins.
Where is this adult filter and how can I check to see if this is the problem? _________________ Nokia E65 & TT Nav6 |

If Traffic works OK for a length of time, I doubt the problem is down to AdultFilter.

I use an E65 on Three and this works (unless in an area with poor coverage which is a separate issue entirely). What I have noticed is that you can only have one 3G function running at a time.
Do you have something else set up on your phone that runs every 20 minutes (perhaps checking your email)? |

This is the message I have sent to TOMTOM regarding their last answer.
ON YOUR website. it states that tomtom6 is compatable with traffic via mobile phone. It also list several Ipaq which are not mobile phones as well as Dell PDA's which are not phones.
I have no problem with phone, have no problem with IPAQ, I have no problem surfing the internet via mobile phone on IPAQ via bluetooth.
I used to have no problem using Traffic, but now it says that it cannot connect to tomtom.
Also if I put into cradle at work I can surf the web via PDA but still cannot connect to TOMTOM, so I don't think my phone is the issue here. Do you?
You say you do not support Traffic via mobile to PDA, but your website says different.
I'm very unhappy and frustrated with the responses I have had so far.
Please could you escalate this issue to one of your supervisors, who perhaps, can read my email before turning the handle and issuing a std response. |

Stick with it, I had an Ipaq 3715 and an SPV c500 on orange. Traffic worked without a problem. |

Well it appears TOMTOM, don't wish to reply to my new query above.
Can anyone please confirm that the website indeed does says that traffic is available for the pda version.
it's not just me is it.
