Hi there
I am having trouble with getting the Ipaq to receive a signal from the GPS receiver. I have all the correct cables/installed Pocket streets OK and the receiver works fine with my laptop.
Any ideas would be most welcome.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
All the best

The receiver works fine with your laptop? On the serial or the USB port? _________________ Lutz

There's your problem. The iPAQ needs the serial version of the RGM2000 _________________ Lutz

I presume you have the correct iPAQ cable for the Sapphire and you're not just trying to plug the Sapphire into a USB socket like on the cradle ?
If you have the iPAQ lead connected to the Sapphire then you won't need any drivers installed, it will use COM1, NMEA 4800. |

Sorry I posted this to your e-mail before I read your footnote so I have copied it here as requested.
Best regards

Dear Dave
Yes I have the correct converter cable for my Ipaq. It runs off the cigarette lighter in my car with the ignition on and powers both the Ipaq and the GPS receiver. Nothing happens. How can I set my Ipaq to COM1 as you suggest.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards |

The instructions were for the PDA, not for the Laptop. _________________ Lutz

Sorry I must be thick but I can't find Tools on the PDA. In Pocket Streets Tools there is no GPS to configure.
Able to display maps on PDA. |

1. launch Pocket Streets
2. Select map (the one the you have exported from the LapTop to the PDA)
3. The Tools menu is at the left bottom side.
4. follow instructions _________________ Lutz

You must have a very old version of Pocket Streets then. I am using the one from the Microsoft site (Pocket Streets 2002, version 11.00) and it does have this menu item. _________________ Lutz
