I have a Go 910 (version 7.16) with recently updated maps of Europe and North America.
In the switch map function in the manage map menu, both sets of maps have the same name. How can I rename the old ones to something like "North America Old", so as to tell the maps apart easily?
Thanks for any help. |

This is a two-fold operation. Firstly, rename the old directory to xxx_old. Then, inside that directory, find the .pna file. Edit it with notepad and change it to xxx_old.pna and it should then be displayed as such when you come to switch maps. (xxx is the existing name.) _________________ Tim |

Sorry, I c*cked up. You need to edit the first line of the .pna file. I was having a senior moment, and I'm not even senior!
For instance, you might change the directory name from
North_America to
North_America_old
and the first line of the .pna file from
ID=North_America.pna to
ID=North_America_old.pna _________________ Tim |

Dont worry Tim.
I figured it out. I made the obvious error the first time and when it didnt work, I reread your instructions and deduced that you wanted me to do a text edit and not just chsnge the name of the .pna file.
It works like a charm now, I have all 4 continental maps handy...I just LOVE the space on a 910. Even with 6 maps tons of music, 2movies and 4 TV documentaries loaded, I still have 5gb of disk space left!!!! |
