Hi everyone , I am a complete novice to this site so here goes with a question i hope you can answer , after many searches i have purchased a tomtom 3 and ipaq bundle today , the Man in the shop assured me that i could use it on foot forgot to say it is blue tooth . does this mean i have to make sure the receiver is charged and then walk around with the receiver and ipaq in my hand , sorry for the daft question but i cant find an answer in the manual (its an ipaq 1940)

That's basically correct. Your 1940 needs to have BlueTooth enabled, and you need to connect to the serial port of the BT receiver.

Just so you are aware, TomTom will only help you for walks in cities, not off road. You need other programs for hiking etc.
