So Ash's utility did the trick, well, at least I did not have to rename any files. _________________ Mick

You wouldn't have had to anyway...
My point above yours though, is that since they started charging for it, PGPSW have not been allowing the database to be distributed by others except under licence. So the database that Ash's utility seems to have installed could be 18 months out of date. (This is what was happening with POI Edit's automatic update system too).
As you're already subscribed to the speed cams (in order to get the speed-zoned set), you should re-download the consolidated one direct from PGPSW every time too. |

@Mick_1959:
Just remember that when Ash10's util tells you that the next download is available, you'll need to update both! _________________ Jock

Hello guy's
I currently have the newer data.chk file installed.
However, as I use gatso for all gatso's it frees up several alarms for poi's
I am wanting to edit some of the alarm sounds within the data.chk file.
can you advise me how you ammended the current alarms so I can amend/edit them to suit my requirements.
I am running TTmobile APP Version 5.000
Which means I am using (419)
Thanks everybody |

See if this thread can be of any use to you.
Try a Search for 'viftool'. Try Google as well. _________________ Richard

vif tool is for splitting dataXX.chk files which are the nav voives and sounds, the data.chk file used to be split / modified using a PC application called POIExtend, but this only supports Pocket PC and Go style devices, I have never seen anything to take appart the data.chk file and swap out the individual sounds (short of using a Hex Edit program and quite a lot of work) - Mike |

Are you following the instructions HERE to the letter?
If so, where is it going wrong? |

IF it's a One Third Edition there is a slight change, there is no Manage POI in the menu, there is ''Warn when near POI'' it is on page two IIRC you should use this to set up the camera warnings - Mike |

Find a camera or two on the map.
Set up an "A-B Prepare route" (what used to be called "Advance plannng") from a few hundred yards before the camera to a few hundred yards after it using the "from map" option to select start and end points. Once it has calculated the route, tap "details" and set it to run a "demo" of the route (keep below 300% speed in order to hear the alerts). |

Hi Sayed.
The first post in this (very) long topic says:
Quote: | Please note that the data.chk file replacement method is no longer supported for all versions of Navigator EXCEPT TomTom Mobile 5. |
The new method is to use the individual sound files found HERE
Have you tried that?
Give us a shout if you have any problems. |
