If you are using a quickstart storage card, then you won't be able to. You have to import them into the PC program and re-compile the maps. |

Can I transfer the software onto my PC via a card reader or will I have to re-purchase soft ware on CD so I can recompile maps to suit my requirements. |

You will need the CD version to be able to do this because you have to re-read the maps's off the CD and re-compile them. I don't believe it's possible doing this from the storage card. You also have benefits from the CD version and that's being able to plot a course right across Europe and creating a corridor of maps cutting down on space required. |
