I have a few files in the \Western_Europe dir.
cline.dat, cname.dat,cnode.dat plus a few others that will not copy, either with a file manager or with tomtom backup.
Anyone have any answers to this _________________ Regards Mike |

To Partially answer my own question this only happens in win vista. I connected tomtom to my older win xp machine an it copies no problem.
Once again a problem with the dreaded Vista _________________ Regards Mike |

Vista has a lot of quirks, the forthcoming SP1/SR1 maybe parses some of them. I try to live in home without it as far as I can (I have used it in my work almost a year). _________________ Harry (TT GO720T) |

For some reason, TomTom HOME does miss files, thats why you should do a FULL WINDOWS EXPLORER backup. Look here, Number 1.

I have Vista, and I do a TomTom HOME update, Update the PGPSW camera database, TomTom HOME backup, then finally, a windows explorer backup. The files you mentioned, are all in my windows explorer backup. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

Be careful with them too...
cline.dat, cname.dat,cnode.dat (and faces.dat) ARE your map. They are about the most important files you have on your TomTom!
NOT looking forward to the day I have to start grappling with Vista... |

Thanks for that Andy I was wondering whether to delete them and then try to put them back from an old backup. as I said in my last post i only get this with vista, i have now burnt an up to date backup onto a cd from my other computer. XP
Funny thing is I can copy these same files from that cd onto any dir on the vista computer, so its a vista tomtom thing. I haven't tried to put them back onto tomtom dir though
I did a google and found that others have the same problems with camers, but no-one had an answer _________________ Regards Mike |
