|
|
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for the following application:
I want a cellular-type of alarm to be fitted in my car. When there is any unauthorised entry into the vehicle, the gsm/gprs module inside my vehicle should send me an sms to inform me of the entry.
Do anyone have any experience with such a system? What is the pro's and con's of such a system?
Hope anyone can help!
Thanks
Gawie |

I'm planning to "recycle" my old cellphone right in this way!
It's capable of bluetooth connection and SMS sending, so I've just to hide the phone and a BT GPS recevier in the car, continuously powered and with my program running.
As soon as the phone receives a call, it replies with an SMS indicating the position.
That's all can be done with my old Motorola a1000, an UIQ 2.x phone.
But a lot of nokia series60 phone exist, which support bluetooth and Python language, which means they'll support the "advanced version" of my program, which upon receiving properly formatted SMS decides if it must send back a single SMS or if it must start "tracking mode", which results in sending position-SMSs at predefined intervals.

I know this posts old........ thought id update, just in-case someone else was looking... Clifford Call guard, This unit will sms you when someone sets the alarm. off. You can also check the status of the alarm, vehicle voltage (will also sms you back when voltage is low). Disable the car.. List goes on... if you have a Clifford alarm you can also arm and disarm via sms But no GPS....
Or you could get an I-mob tracking unit, you can call/sms to get Gps location along with disables the vehicle.. And has many other inputs ect....
Leme know if you need more info/ want to know where you can get installed.. |
