It depends which Device you have.
TomTom's have a Demo Mode which can used for this purpose. Other Units I don't know.
Oh, and welcome aboard. _________________ Richard

That is a tough one. I would look in on the TomTom website. They usually have some nice help info. |

Not really, Fred. The TomTom site won't give you any information on how to check a rival speed camera datebase is working. (especially if bellboy hasn't got a TomTom!)
It's not tough either, but CAN be confusing if you haven't done it before.
If you HAVE got a TomTom bellboy, firstly if you just want to SEE if they are there, you can set the map to show the cameras, just by "enabling" them in the preferences menu "show POI on map".
You then will want to set up the "warn when near" settings (FOR EVERY CAMERA TYPE if you have chosen one of the download formats where the cameras are split into types). Again this is done in the preferences "Manage POIs / Warn when near...."
To check those alerts work, then as Oldboy says, use a route demo. Find one and zoom in on it. Then go to A-B advanced planning (or "Prepare a route" as it is called on later software) set a start and end on either side of the camera and then once it has plotted the route, in "details" you can run a demo of it. Keep the speed below 300% and you will hear the alerts as you have set them up.
There are links on the download page to more detailed instructions for all these things.... |
