|
|
I am running a 2210 patched to 1.1, I orginally purchase navman 4410 but decided to get tomtom for the poi support.
The disk arrived yesterday and after installation I was surprised to note that it was already version 3.01, I ran the patch just in case.
While stationary I can get a GPS lock and have left the system running fine for upto an hour. The problem is when moving the GPS feed seems to lock unsually after 1 to 5 miles. I have tried unistalling the ~ gps driver and used nmea at 4800,38000,57000 but nothing makes a difference.
To reconnect I go into gps, untick the gps box then tick it again, it asks me to select the bt device and then it's receiving again.
I have unistalled and reinstalled the software again but no change. I also noted that some users have reverted to 3.00 to fix lock ups but I don't have this option.
About the only thing I could try now is a hard reset, anyone have any ideas ? |

You should send a mail to TomTom asking them to send v3.00 to you. _________________ Lutz

I decided to do a hard reset and I think it's worked, with only tomtom installed it didn't lock up on a 10 mile trip.
does anyone know the best gps settings ? I've got it at 4800 and it seems to work ok. |

Bluetooth receivers tend to default to 38400. Not that it makes a performance difference though. _________________ Lutz

I think Smart ST was wanting it set at 57600, but as you say it doesn't seem to make much difference.
I forgot to mention, I installed maps on CF card instead of SD card after the hard reset, not sure if that mattered either. |

Having just looked at the 3.01 patch on the TomTom site, there is now a big warning stating it isn't suitable for the 2210, and that a suitable one will be released soon. |

Hi All
I have a 2210 and upgrade to the new ROM flash 1.10 today, and went ok, also noticed on TomTom web page that they had a GPS update 3.01 also installed. All seem to be working ok !!
But on TomTom web page there are TWO GPS 3.01 updates, one tell you not to use on 2210, and the other for users of PPC using TT2 &TT3 this is the one i installed (V3.01 412/403).
Far as i can tell all seem to be working ok, not sure if this is by luck or expect to get problems latter ??
Also use Checkpoint 3.2 and launch from button 3 which in turn runs TT2, and on button 4 run Neils T great UK postcodes which seems to navigate to requireed location. Using TT BT GPS unit
So time will tell if i going to get lock ups !!! (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this might help some one
Rgds

One of them is the complete update, one is just to update the GPS driver to version 3.01. I am running the updated GPS driver and its working fine on my 2210. |

Mine is now working fine, did a 70 mile trip today and everything went smoothly, I must say I like tomtom 3 far more than smart st after using it for one day. |

Folks, you are confusing the TomTom Navigator 3.01 with the TomTom GPS driver 3.01 - those are two independent applications (sort of). The warning was just for Navigator 3.01, not for GPS 3.01 _________________ Lutz
