Not for me.
Use my corrections = Ghyll.
Don't use mine = Chyll. _________________ Dennis

When I first checked, Ghyll Edge was showing. However, following Andy's tip, I then turned off Use my own corrections and it reverted to chyll edge. |
Still says Chyll Edge here. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,

I know that map corrections used to work, as one of my corrections still shows when I turn off show my own corrections.
POI corrections are also not working, as I moved a police station, and it's still wrong.
Banbury police station is in Warwick Road, and not Humber Walk as my TomTom states. I have corrected this, but still showing wrong here. |

We've heard recently that TomTom DO sometimes read this forum.
Well these Mapshare issues are becoming really annoying with absolutely no information forthcoming from TomTom about why it is not working properly and whether it ever will. I'm now on my second reply from them about the POI corrections disappearing and they haven't even managed to mention the word "Mapshare " in either answer!
COME ON TOMTOM. PLEASE TELL US WHAT IS GOING ON! |

Don't hold your breath with TomTom 'support'.
My case of Mapshare not working was lodged on 21st October, and TomTom have just cut and pasted answers to all my issues without reading my problem!
TomTom last reply was on 01/11/07 and I have heard nothing since.
Last useless reply posted below:-
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.
If you receive an error while you are downloading Mapshare Corrections via TomTom Home, then please do the following:-
- You will need to delete your existing Map Corrections, click on 'Preferences TomTom Map Share Remove Corrections'.
- Check the box 'Remove all the corrections I made Myself'
- Check the box 'Remove all the corrections Made by others or verified by TomTom'
- Click Done
Your Mapshare Corrections should now have been removed.
Once you have done this, update your TomTom again, TomTom Home will redownload all the mapshare corrections that you need.
With Best Regards
The TomTom Customer Support Team |

falkirk81 upload your correction.
I think tomtom might update faster if we work the system by lots of use sending the same error corrections |

I was wondering why my 520 kept telling me to get in the right lane on dual carrigeways.
I see now it was the layby's that cause it

On the A259 near Newhaven Town station, East Sussex heading west TT will tell you to go over the level crossing rather than use the flyover a few feet away.
See Here.
Thus you may be held up by the trains, have to cross a round-a-bout which is shown a T junction on TT (have correct that on Mapshare but we know how well that works with round-a-bouts) and then merge back with the A259 you just left
Travel East does use the flyover...
How can you persuade TT to use the flyover without blocking the other road?
That's if you can?

Report it as an "other error" is about all you can do. |

Thats like a road near where I live that TomTom will not let you turn left onto by car but it will if your walking or on a bicycle.
On the Forth Road Bridge TT wont let you cycle or walk over it but you can. It just bizarre how these errors are made.
I have reported the first error I mentioned but not the second because I've no intention over walking or cycling over the Forth Road Bridge |

I've spent today updating the firmware and map on my TT1 1st edition. After a quick look I have to say I'm disappointed by what I can change to correct a map.
There's a (kind of) crossroads near me where my TomTom says I have to turn left (up the tiny left turn slip road) then make a sharp turn to go right when, in reality, I can make a normal right turn (without the 'sharp' part). It's been bugging me since I got my TT1 and I was looking forward to being able to fix it but it seems all I can do is mark it as an 'other error' (which I've done).
There's also a roundabout where the symbol displayed shows taking the wrong turn (though the main display shows it correctly).
It seems I can't fix either of these problems properly. I'm hoping someone here will tell me they are possible and explain how to do it |

Hi Andygrunt I too was looking forward to being able to make map changes some for myself and some to share with others and I also was disappointed to say the least about what I am able to do and what I cant I thought at least some of the changes such as roundabout would be shown on my own map instead of being an unpaid untrusted map corrector and still having to buy the next map version and pray all the corrections I made actually make it onto the map.
Well for your first issue if it the case you being given what you think is the wrong instruction i.e. "Turn Sharp Right" instead of "Turn Right" well bad news nothign you can do about that. As for the second issue nothing you can do about that apart from report the error and hope a coorection is forthcoming or is corrrected in the next map. I had a similar annoying issue with v660 but it was corrected in v675 and is still correct in v710 so there is light at the end of the tunnel but unfortunately it might be a long tunnel. |

A very long tunnel. I sent some corrections for errors which first appeared in TT Navigator5 - they have been sent several times both to TomTom and TeleAtlas. Some of those errors are still on the latest 710.1561 which I downloaded yesterday. I'm talking about serious errors eg TT trying to direct you to perform illegal right turns. Unfortunately, there is no way to correct your own maps for that particular error usiinng mapshare - the is no way of introducing a No Right Turn instruction
