Hi all
I was wondering what distances others set their camera warnings for mobile sites, i have mine set at 600yds, but when in a area where ther is a lot of mobile sites i am getting warnings of them even though i am not that close (i:e when they may be on an estate iand i am on a different road), i pick them up at 600yds as the crow flies. What does every one think is a safe minimum warning , say for a 30mph mobile site.
Also can you tell me the difference between the RED and BLUE mobile sites as they appear on my TTv3.

Look at the chart towords the bottom of this thread, thats what I use, and for mobiles, you want at least double, they can see you from quite a way off. Say add 500yards, up to 40mph, and add 1000 yards for 50mph plus.

Have you got "Warn only when on route" ticked for EVERY camera type? That should sort out the majority of false alarms from nearby roads.
As for the red and blue difference... red is for a fully confirmed mobile site, blue is for the optional "pMobiles" file which you have opted to install as well. These are un-verified sites, so far reported by only one person. (If you want to read a fuller explanation, on the main camera download page there is a box to click called "Expand for Information About the pMobile Files"). |
