hi..newbie here and a woman at that!! got one of these off ebay...
cant find out much about it...
says it uses teleatlas with smart2go on the sd card.
on my computor have paired it up with microsoft active..
seems to say the software is mobile navigator??
wondered if i could add to or change the points of interest as it is a little incomplete to say the least...
postcode search leaves a bit to be desired unless i am doing it wrong..couldnt find me house as its down on the satnav with the wrong postcode?..
any help appreciated.... |

Smart2Go is well know if a little basic. Very little can be done with it such as custom POIs.
You 'may' be able to install other software to replace Smart2Go if you can get at the underlying OS. I have no experience of that device so cannot guide you in that endeavour. _________________ Darren Griffin |

thanks darren, any info is useful..i would imagine that it could not be too hard to open up ce.net on it by the looks of it..i have seen another post on here with the same unit that someone had opened it up and got tom tom on it, but there were no follow ups or how toos and it was from feb this year..
any one got any ideas how to open ce up on it?..i can give more details of how its set up if it will help any of you techy crackers out there?..
it seems a great unit with a 400 hz processor and is fast but as you say the software on it is not very good... |

If you mean you're installing software that you don't own then actually it isn't. _________________ Darren Griffin |

surely if i lend my sat nav to the legal owner of some software, he has the right to use it whilst in his care..and take his sd card out when he gives it back to me....as the satnav only runs from the card and is not installed surely thats his perogative...correct me if i am wrong.. |

He can use your satnav, he can't use the software from that satnav in his. _________________ Darren Griffin |
