Hi all,
talking with a lady from Bristol (UK) tourist information centre it seems there is a web site offering a gps challange which is tour of town/city and a game like the Da Vincci code book story, but is based on real history of the location.
It seems its not geocaching as it is more history focused.
She said they cover all of Europe, but she did not have the details yet as she had only spoken with the creator and not seen the site.
Has anyone know of this please

They might mean Mediascapes:
http://www.mscapers.com/
Type Bristol in the search box to list GPS tours in that city including a couple of puzzle ones.
I haven't used any myself yet, so can't offer any further advice. _________________ Barry Davies

Hi Barry,
mscapers looks really interesting and I will take some time to understand it.
I think I may have found what I was looking for and it is LINK REMOVED - see last post
It looks exactly like what the lady was explaining to me.
At first glance it seems straight forward and interesting.
I will post back with an update when I have tried it.
Cheers
eric

Isn't that funny that you are posting from somewhere in/around Sophia-Antipolis and the owner of the site lives in Valbonne - less than a mile away. If my memory serves me right you can almost see it from the top of the HP building ;-) |

I would have thought that this was a misuse of the information held by pgpsw.
the IP address of every poster is stored for various legal purposes as well as allowing us to trace users who breach the forum rules such as on this occasion
there are many many free utilities that will give the approximate location of an IP address which is what Eldar will have used. MaFt |

no, this is a misuse of the forums for someone who does not want to pay to advertise.
the site linked to by 'ericforum' is owned by a michael doherty in france (search WHOIS database) and the registered email for 'ericforum' is m.doherty@...........fr.
links removed and thread locked. if you wish to advertise please use he correct channels.
