I have a tomtom one version 2 and have just been offered and accepted the latest software update and have a couple of questions that you chaps may be able to answer for me please.
no1 What is the first aid folder there for as when I click it it says no information.
no2 there is a information folder that is also empty, why is that/what is it for.
no3 the help me option is ok for walking to garages ect but the police staions are 248 miles away in scotland I think.
Last question is ...is the latest version installed as a firmware update on the machine or is is on the memory card??/Ie if I put the original memory card back will the tomtom be the original format again?
Oh and the camera databese I installed from here in the Summer still works fine but others on this here forum say they get problems is this fixed or was I lucky???
Thanks guys for any answers you may have.

The icons that lead to no information are because TomTom have not supplied the required data for the device to use when you press the relevent icons.
As for Doctors being in Scotland, I think if you check they might actually be in Northern Ireland, this is due to the poor quality POI files they supply, Map Share might make a difference given time, but so far Map Share seems to be all take and very little give IMHO. It also tends to mess up custom POI installations so use it carefully.
I guess the fact your warnings a still working is a good plus point, or perhaps you were lucky, I have upgraded the OS on the devices and never suffered a POI Warning loss, others have reported losses so it is a bit of lottery, sadly this lottery has little in way of a prize! - Mike |

Thanks for the info Mike, Do you know if Tomtom are going to rectify these problems and if they are going to put content in the folders? I can hardly see the the point of these upgrades at all really unless it is to generate money by forcing customers with older maps to upgrade in the hope the info will be available.
Tomtom seem to get themselves into a lot of messes. |
