In the couple of weeks that I've had my new TT receiver, I've been trying bto work out how much better it is compared to my modified early unit. Although I am getting reception in a few areas that I didn't before, there are also times when the APPARENT reception isn't so good. For example, from M25 to S Wales on the M4, I used to hold a solid green untilapproching Swindon, now it's intermittant from Reading. Also I used to have a solid green fom home to Dover, M25,M26,M20, again it's noe intermittant. However I say apparently because the quality of information received is a vast improvement with the new unit.
I don't think it's beacaue of changes to TM service, since I've noticed the improvement in France as well. Travelling from Dover to Paris I used to get a lock in Calais, and pick up info for the whole journey. I then used to lose the signal approching Arras, and then there were two sections of the journey where I had a solid green, but no traffic info. I then picked up another signal approching Paris with all the original info. Now, whilst the signal is again nore internittant than it was, every time I get a lock I get information.
I'm convinced that my old modified unit somehow managed to lock onto Classic and give a solid green, but not with sufficient strength to deciper the info.
The other change I've noticed is that the new unit seems to go directly from orange to the revolving arrows, bypaaing the inital solid green. it does this even when it doesn't manage to lock on. _________________ Go740L App 9.510 Europe 985.8155
