No problem, send it to me and I'll host it and provide the link.
Where was the original link that doesn't work? It may be that it pointed to the DS web-site, I can edit to point to the new file if I know where the link was on our web-site? _________________ Darren Griffin |

See this PGPSW page.
The actual "dead link" is in Option-2 at the end of line 1 marked [download link] _________________ TomTom Go 60

OK that's fine, it was link which pointed to the DS Site which is now no more. I can edit that to point to the file once I get it. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Paula,
For reasons unknown can't get the file to you on e-mail, keeps returning error messages.
As you can see above, it is now working on PGPSW, so freely available.
Good Luck, phone me if having problems. _________________ TomTom Go 60

Many thanks for all that you are doing....
I have copied and pasted all this thread since my last night's posting to my next door neighbour David and I will ask him if we can give it a go again some evening next week.
Take care
Hugs

Morning guys,
Well David and I had a go but failed.....
However we ran out of time.
We knew that we were not doing it right as we were using a mix of old DS material and PGPSW stuff........
BUT, last night I had a go again on my PC using only the PGPSW
database ( successful ) and the latest DS loader instructions ( successful ).
However when I tried to open up a port to get the whole thing going, I kept getting this message " ERROR CONNECTING TO TARGET ".........
David and I also had this problem using my USB Serial Cable on his PC which has Windows XP.
I am running Windows 98 still but I do have a spare USB port on my old Compaq Presario 40X Max.
Any ideas where we are both going wrong....
Paula

Hi
I had a lot of problems getting my ds to connect originally, sounds similar. It took a lot of attempts, but seemed to relate to trying all the available com ports and varying the download speeds.
Regards

Hi
Windows 98 and usb ports are not the most reliable thing.
If you have a serial port already just buy a null modem cable (approx £5) this way you will have no driver issues. _________________ Wayne

You will need to know the com port the USB Serial cable is attached.
Go to Start/settings/Control Panel/System/Device Manager - look under ports and find the USB to Serial entry line, the (Com **) is on the end of the line.
This is for the first top left hand box of the DS loader software, in the box under this set the Baud rate to 115200. _________________ TomTom Go 60
