I have memory map OS edition version 5 and was wondering if anyone knows any tricks to save a map and overlayed route as an image, jpeg etc so it can be sent to people who do not have the program to view. I realise the image export function is defuct due to os copyright laws but was wondering if anyone had found any neat ways to do this as it is the primary rteason I just shelled out all this money on a new pda and gps! Thanks, in advance. |

Hi,
You can create a .PDF using one of the many PDF-writer programs (I use the freeware "PrimoPDF"). The program appears as a "virtual printer" which you can send the map images to, like any normal printer.

With MM displayed on the PC press "CTL and Print Screen" an image of the entire MM application will be placed on the PC clipboard, next fire up Paint or a more capable picture editor package and press "Ctl and V" you can do what you want with the image now - Mike |

Not a query on this issue but just a general question really. Mike, why would you use CTRL and PRINTSCREEN when the PRINTSCREEN button on its own does exactly the same thing? _________________ Garmin Etrex H

I'm not even sure CTRL+PRTSCRN is a valid command, maybe Mike was thinking of ALT+PRTSCRN which only captures the active window and not the entire desktop? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Since I cleaned the keyboard a while ago I suspect I put the CTL and ALT keys back the wrong way around hence the confusion sorry I guess I just got used to it being slightly different - Mike |
