hi Mike n dave
Thanks for all your replies I have ordered one this morning
I can't see why these numbers are so different, are TomTom trying to confuse, or is it that they confuse without trying.
They have a few remaining .
Can't wait till tomorrow

Look at the post I made Here as it details the three main different RDS-TMC units, with photos and part numbers (the numbers I quote are what are on the device - not on any box or packaging)
The last link you supplied has various pictures of at least two different receivers so I am unsure which one you think you might be purchasing - Mike |

Edit: It might be worth reading the 3 pages, some of us who live a bit out of the way are still having trouble, even with the 013 versions! |

I have been waiting to buy a TMC unit for my 910 and have been reading this forum daily.
I have just phoned TT customer service and they assure me ( !!! )that the correct article number is 9v00.017, so it looks like Tottenham Court Road has the right version |

OK - Todays reply from TomTom
Thank you for your reply. You are currently using the v3 TMC receiver, rather than the v3.75. When the receiver was sent to our repair centre, due to an error, you were sent another v3 rather than a v3.75, so this time we will ensure that a v3.75 is sent to you - you then should have no usability problems.
The RMA email states it is a
TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver EU v3.75 [M] 2V00.006
that is being sent in replacement, my previous 3 identical RMA emails (don't ask why 3, TomTom seem to think the more RMAs they create for me the better) was for a
TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver EU v3.0 [M] 2V00.004.2
Looks like in the last two weeks there has been another update.
Before you ask Mike, mine has the 013 label on it and looks like the picyure of the v3 you have taken with the ferrite core between the 'egg' and the connector.
I will see what tomorrow brings and then send it back again.

My Expansys TMC arrived this morning and it is definatly the new version 4v00.013 on both box and a small sticker on the cable it's self - it also has 3 suckers and looks like the 3rd picture earlier in the thread.
Hope this helps someone.

Well my new TMC receiver seems to be getting updates fine pretty much wherever I put it in the car, shame the quality of information isn't very good, it told me there was congestion on the M62 last night causing a 14 min delay, I was actually 30 mins late and it showed that I'd reached the end of the congestion when I was still stuck in traffic for a considerable amount of time afterwards. The other side of the road was shown as congested for a longer stretch but actually wasn't as bad, is there a chance it got the side of the road wrong somehow, maybe thinking I was in europe? |

hi mick322
i got mine today but although it searches i've not had a fix so far
i can't think, why i'm on top of a hill, but i also have a big hill a mile or so in front of us . i know this hill blockes out channel 5 so I wonder if its the problem. I will have to give the receiver a run over the weekend
