The 3,75 device is the one labeled up as .013 at the end of the part number, all these different numbers for the same kit just lead to confusion, at least the RDS-TMC unit numbering isn't as bad as the TomTom One range - Mike |

If any one has a 520 and the new RDS-TMC receiver can they see if that works ok while charging because my receiver is rendered even more useless than the original one on my OneXL.If it works ok I shall buy one because I often have 5 hour journeys and need to be able to charge it on the move.
Thanks |

I have tried mine without the car charger plugged in and it is no different.
I tried a colleagues GO910 today and it was exactly the same as my 510 - I used his mount and charger in my car with my receiver and got exactly the same results as well.
So, it looks like I have a ropy RDS-TMC receiver or this is as good as it gets on x10 model.
Interestingly, I have raised it with TomTom and the response so far is that their is no way that Mike Alder could have tried it with a 720 as the RDS-TMC receiver is not available for a 720.
They just do not have a clue!

Mike,
I don't doubt you for a moment, and I didn't mention you by name to TomTom.
It is just another typically idiotic TomTom First Line support response when they don't understand.
I am contacting them back and referring them back to this thread (again) and see if it gets me anywhere.
Thanks

I got the 'pay 50 euro for the replacement' email today, I swiftly emailed back. I put a copy of the receipt in with the unit.
Waiting........ |

does this sound alright | I have never heard of an RDS-TMC unit with that part number from TomTom, but they might have re-numbered the device, the latest unit that I know works is the one ending with .013
Who is the supplier claiming to have a higher release number - Mike |

Funnily enough I walked past them today and checked to see if they had any TMCs. I walked away with part no. 9V00.017 (Labelled as TMC receiver V2). Works like a charm on my 720.

It was £49.95. Probably OTT but that's Tottenham Court Road for you. I think they've got a couple more in stock.
