This may be off topic but..... (there is always a but )
Whilst pootling to work this morning I notice when going around the J10 roundabout that a great many temporary poles with 3 or 4 cameras have been erected on each of the juntions to the roundabout. I counted five cameras just at the southbound slip off of the A3 onto theroundabout.
I don't think that they are speed cams, nor red light cams but perhaps they may be a precursor to a red light cam?
Has anyone else noticed them or can shed any more light as to their purpose? |

Do they look like the cameras on this page HERE?
If so, they are ANPR cameras, used for number plate recognition. _________________ TomTom Go 60

No they don't look as big as those ones. These cameras are mounted on a pole and the pole itself looks like it has been zip tie fastened to existing poles on the roundabout. I will try to get a photo of them either on my way home tonight or on the way in tomorrow. |

Hmmm - I got a photo - how do I attach it to the message? Lets try this....
OK this was taken last night on the M25 clockwise off slip at J10 (A3) This camera is mounted on a streetlight, others are mounted on temporary thin poles tied to existing signs and the like. Sorry for the quality of the shot but it was dark at the time. |

Not sure what these are as they seemed to pointed directionally as a single camera not in pairs.
I would have thought they were just a traffic camera showing congestion (or not), might still be ANPR!
Not a "speed" camera though.
Will have to leave it for others to give views. _________________ TomTom Go 60
