Can anyone please say how I can find or make voices for my Nokia 6630 with TTom mobile.
I am wanting a voice alert when I get close to Tesco's and Abbey national, MacDonnalds, etc.
Thanks |

Try here:
http://www.naturalvoices.att.com/demos/
(currently it directs to another temporary site but it does the same thing).
Create sample audio file for any text you input, select one of several sample voices. Convert to .ogg format, change name to the same as the POI file and put in the map folder. |

Thanks, but the 6630 running TT mobile don't use *.ogg files for voice.
I think I need to get a modified data.chk file?
How do i know whats in the data.chk file before I install it?
I am using Map V660 |

You go to This Page where you will find a list of the warning names - Bell1, Beep 3, Cow etc - to the right of each name is a downloadable ogg file which will play on your PC if you have something like Audacity Installed - Mike |

Thanks for the pointers, however, I am running Tomtom mobile, which is Symbian based.
This now means I need the data.chk file.
I am running version 5.00 which means I need to download (419)
I have done this and now I have the new data.chk file on my desktop.
I have Audacity installed, but how can I open the data.chk file to edit some of the sounds, then save it for transfering to my phone?
In the chk.data file I only use about 3 of the current warnings, and I was hoping to edit some of the unused warnings into a warning that would be of use to me.
EG Abbey, or cash point, MacDonalds etc.
Thanks, but I know this is a tough one |

Got it sorted.
I found a little proggy, on this forum, and it's called TomTomGo POI Sound Patcher
Here
http://www.automated.it/ttg-poipatcher.html
fantastic. ! mega congrat's to the originator
Now I can just keep a gatso warning for ALL the gatsos,
Just 1 spec's warning,
And perhaps just another 2 original warnings.
All the others can be replaced with your own choice.
Simple !
very easy to use.
just recorded what you want with Audacity, and give it a name.
then run this little proggy' and it asks you what you want to hear for any of the original sounds.
just what I wanted, now I can have all sorts of POI warnings, Abbey, MacDonalds, |
