Firstly is this the database from TomTom or this site? - if it is the latter try this method:

Download the ov2 format database, unzip it and copy it to the map folder on the device, use Windows Explorer to copy the files to the device as it is the most reliable method. - Mike

PS database is from THIS site. Unziped and no probems with V2.

Try what I suggested in the above post using Windows Explorer to view the TomTom Drive on the PC, if you click the drive letter it will open to reveal a list of folders, the map folder should be apparant from the folder name "Western_Europe" or "United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland"
If you cannot see the TT device via Windows Explorer what OS is on your PC? - Mike

Have posted into TT map file - they appear in the map folder - do I need to activate? There are 6 files posted! Do I just need the CAB file?

OK so you now have the required files in the map folder on the device, use the TomTom and select Warn When Near POI, select each of the pocketgps camera POI files in turn and set up the warning distance, sound and warn only if POI on route check box as per your preferences - Do this using the device NOT TomTom Home then it will warn you of cameras as you drive around - Mike

When the TomTom is connected to the PC and you view the map folder using Windows Explorer do the pocketgps POI files appear listed within the folder, they need to be contained within the map folder and not within any sub folder or CAB file - Mike

If the speed camera files are being made available on the device can you count up how many POI files are within the map folder, look at the folder using Windows Explorer and count up the number of files ending with .ov2 as these are the Custom POI files, there is a limit of 100 - Mike

The "root directory" is an old computing term. It means "not inside any other folder" (also known as a 'directory').

So, on your PC hard drive (usually called CSmile you will have a bunch of folders (such as "Windows" and "Program files").
Anything that is NOT in one of those folders will be "on the root of C:" or "in the root directory of C:".

For example:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Word\Word.exe. - Here, Word.exe is NOT in the root of C:

C:\Myfile.doc. - Here, Myfile.doc *IS*.

Now, to make it more confusing, you can extend this to a foder... When you have folders nested inside folders, inside folders; you might say "Now 'Myfile2.doc' is in the root of the 'My Documents' folder.. That means it is in the folder, but not inside any of the folders that are also inside "My Documents".

Hope that helps to get your files into the right place!
What files were you being told to put in the root directory anyway? All the speed camera data files and the other POI files and the ogg voice files all would want to go inside the map folder on your One.
