UPDATE
I removed a lot of POI's and now have my cameras back, I think the software update took more space.
Hopefully I may find help.
I have been using Pocket GPS cameras for over 3 years, so I am confident in updating my TomTom.
What has happened is I have a TOMTOM ONE V2 EUROPE.
I had the camera database on my TT and was working fine, did a TT update and updated the new Version TT 7.120
I then lost my voice warning for cameras, ok I thought I will try the data.chk file, didn't work.
I thought ok I will restore my original backup with the cameras and voice warnings. This did not work.
I have now a up to date TT ONE V2 Europe but the cameras do no show in the POI option on the device, even though I can see them on on my laptop in the europe map folder.
PLEASE HELP
Also this new TOMTOM HOME 2 is a pain as well and is not making it any easier.
Is the current camera database compatible with the latest TT Europe V2 - 7.120
P.s - just took the £19 subscription out... gutter ... |

from what i can make from this, if i am correct is
1 you have updated to 7.12
2 you have the camera database
3 no sounds or cameras
try going through the camera poi's and select each one, ie preferences, warn when near poi, set distance and sound
the reason they need re-activating is when you upgraded to 7.12 the sd card is flashed automatically and therefore no record of any warnings, it does this to clear it for the navcore install |

There is no data.chk file for version 7 software (unless someone has been messing around to create it) - the data.chk method was dropped a while back in favour of using ogg audio files, you will find a comprehensive guide to this, including links to the ogg file download page Here - I appreciate the guide only states vs5 and 6 software, so it does need an update, this facelift is on my list of things to do - Mike |

ogg audio warnings correspond to each of the POI categories and do indeed produce sounds like "Warning Gatso ahead, speed limit is 30 miles per hour" - if this is what you want on your device forget all about data.chk as it simply will not work and follow the link I provided in my previous post, if you get stuck with the ogg file method let us know where it has gone wrong, but I can assure you this works with the version 7 software - Mike |
