Posted: Fri Sep 28, 2007 2:13 pm Post subject: Announcing the PocketGPSWorld.com Logo Competition! |
|
|
We need you to put your creative talents to the test. This is your chance to design a brand new PocketGPSWorld.com logo!
We are looking for your ideas for a refreshing new logo which will appear on all 200,000 of our web pages. Your work will be showcased on a site that attracts well over 1 million visits per month!
- The logo must be easily recognisable and suitable for use in a wide range of sizes, media and promotional materials. We will also be using the logo on our letter heads, business cards, baseball caps, polo shirts, leaflets, video productions and anything else that we can think of
- The winning entry will receive a £250 cash prize($500, EU 375), whether or not we choose to use it.
- We would strongly recommend that you use similar elements of our existing banner/logo to maintain our brand continuity.
- Although we would prefer the tag line to remain 'Directing you towards the future' we welcome other ideas and anything will be considered!
We require a redesign of the top-of-site banner (960 x 98) and buttons as follows:
-
Newsletter/Email update logo (600 x 86)
-
PocketGPSWorld.com Expo button (130 x 103)
-
PocketGPSWorld.com Expo button (100 x 79)
-
Front page news button (100 x 79)
-
Forum Icon (64 x 64) Please bear in mind that too much detail will be lost in the smaller sizes.
The logo must be the original work of the entrant with non-copyrighted images. By submitting a logo for entry in the competition, the designer acknowledges that it is their own original work and that they own the logo. Ownership of all submitted images/copy will reside with PocketGPSWorld.com.
We reserve the right to have the winning logo further developed and or modified. This will allow us to formulate versions specific to various media formats. The panel’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The final format must be digital (preferably .psd but any other common format will be acceptable) and images should be sent by email to reviews AT PocketGPSWorld.com with 'Logo Competition' as the subject line. Please ensure files are no greater than 10 MB in total.
Entry is open to all with the exception of Directors or employees of PocketGPSWorld.com and their families.
The closing date is 31 October 2007 so make sure you get started right away! _________________ Robert Brady |

I see no reason why not, as long as it's done in their spare time _________________ Robert Brady |

Actually to ensure fairness I think it would be best, unless you wish to submit some ideas outside of the competition? I've now edited the terms to add a clause excluding you ;) _________________ Darren Griffin |

DennisNs are totally incapable of entering - you should see the design for my new (well, earlier this year) pond. It's sort of pond-ish pan-ish shaped and is a bit deep at one end, but not at the other - even the fish and toads get lost in it. _________________ Dennis

I personally think it will be hard and a challenge to improve on the existing logo |

I know you posted the existing logos at the top of this thread but has anyone got a detailed original any where I could have. Although the the logos you show are what you want to use they are not good enough to work with, or to create new originals. _________________ Dom

Come off it Dom! Even a pDumbo can use an original to "create" new ones.

Sorry no clues! I've already created a first draught but I want to play with some images on it. More specifically the the original satalite. also don't want to upset nasa by stealing one of their pictures. It costs them a fortune to take pictures from space you know! _________________ Dom
