Tomtom Go500 Europe maps very hard work.
I just bought the DVD of Western Europe maps and installed to my Tomtom Go 500 and am dissapointed to find out that I cannot just type in an address in Italy for example and have the Tomtom take me directly there from the UK. Instead I have to programme to the coast of UK, then go into prefs and change mapping system for France, they type in location to France boarder, then change maps to...
With Snooper Syrius you don't have to do this.
Or am I doing something wrong?
I prefer the look of maps on Tomtom, Snooper is crap in comparison.
Cheers. |

On that DVD do you just have the individual country maps or is there one for the whole of Western Europe? One of the limitations of the TomTom 'region' maps is that cross-map navigation isn't supported, as you have found out. _________________ Tim |

If you bought this DVD from TomTom, I think you would have a case for a refund or swap.
The important word to look for is "seamless". There is a "seamless" map of Western Europe (and one of Western and Central Europe too) and the there is the collection of Europe maps, which are individual countries.
Another complication is that the individual country maps may be "Plus" maps where you have street level mapping of the country concerned, plus the major roads of the rest of Europe and UK as well.
Many people have used these by loading the country map for their destination, as the major roads of the UK are enough to get them to the ferry port. |
