My wife recently let the battery die on her PDA, so we had to restore from backup. Everything came back and is working okay, but the TT5 shortcut is no longer on the start screen. Does anybody know how to get this back without reinstalling TT5?
Thanks |

Have you checked the 'Today' settings to see if the Homescreen shortcut is installed but not activated? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I had this problem and couldn't solve it either. I ended up putting the programme link in the drop down start menu. Bear in mind though that you can only have 7 items. _________________ Mike

If you have the original installation CD, run the setup to extract the .cab files. This will give you:- gps.cab
- gps.ini
- PIMAddIn.cab
- tnn.cab
- tnn.ini
- wzd.cab
Copy wzd.cab to your PPC and run to recreate the Today Plugin. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Darren,
I've got TT6 and although the Tom Tom link is shown in the Today settings it doesn't appear when selected, even within the allowed 7 items.
My original installation came on SD card and the latest via download. The only file I can see that may be of any use is tttoday.dll but obviously that won't run.
Any ideas please? _________________ Mike

Mike, what files do you have in the 2577 folder on the SD card? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Sorry for the delay Darren,
I have 4 files shown in folder 2577, they are:
autorun.exe
autorun.exe-run
TTN.CAB and TTN2003.CAB _________________ Mike

I've always found that the desktop shortcut was too small anyway, especially in a moving car (with the exception of the HTC Exec and the huge screen).
I rarely use Internet Explorer so I remapped the hardware button to open TomTom which is far easier on the move and I can still access IE from the programs menu. _________________ Tom Tom GO 720

HI
I have just upgraded the ROM on a HP HX2490 and also lost the Today shortcut. I tried wzd.cab and it put the shortcut on Today but nothing ran when I selected it.
Application and maps are all on SD card and before upgrading I also had it mapped to a button but can't see it in the list to select now.
Any help much apreciated as I would rather not reinstall in case my device ID has changed and I have to reactivate. (That happened a few months ago and had problems getting Tom Tom believe it was a legit copy.)
Thanks
SORRY
Just searched again and found way to copy shortcut to windows start menu and now it appears in the button selection.
Cheers |
